– COSMETIC WHITE FILLINGS: We have the experience and expertise to bring together the various advanced dental disciplines required create white fillings that not only look great but they function correctly, are healthy and will last for many years to come.

White Fillings can be used to replace decay, just like silver fillings or replace old silver fillings for cosmetic reasons. The enhanced cosmetics are the main benefit of white fillings, they can look just like natural teeth. Many people are also concerned about the potential risks of mercury containing silver fillings.

– VENEERS AND CROWNS: Are a new front surface for a tooth, custom made from porcelain. Veneers and crowns are extremely versatile and can be used to align crowding or protruding teeth, close gaps or lighten tooth colour. The strength and appearance of our dental porcelain veneers or crowns rivals that of natural teeth and they’re used to make long lasting changes to the smile.

Dental porcelain veneers or crowns are then provided as planned over two main treatment appointments. At the first appointment, the teeth are prepared. This process involves trimming back a thin layer from the front surface and biting edge to make space for the veneer or crown. Impressions are taken and temporary crowns are made. Importantly, this gives our patients an opportunity to trial the planned smile design in their own mouths before the veneers or crowns are made. Any changes or fine adjustments can be made to the temporaries and reproduced in the final veneers. These treatments are all carried out using our pain-free anesthetic techniques.

– DENTAL IMPLANTS: Implants are the modern way to replace missing teeth. The implant, which is made of titanium, is fitted in bone where the tooth root would normally be. When fully integrated to the bone, a post (or abutment) is attached to the implant and a crown, bridge or denture is then placed over the abutment to replace the missing tooth or teeth.

The big advantage of a single tooth implant over a bridge is that it can replace the tooth without interfering with teeth on either side, unlike a bridge. If multiple teeth are missing then very often there are not enough teeth to provide long term support to bridges anyway. Implants are therefore essential to support multiple implant crowns or implant supported bridges.

If most or all of the teeth are missing then implant supported dentures may be an option. For full denture wearers, retention is often a big problem as bone support recedes. Even the best fitting dentures can feel loose. A full upper denture also requires a large area over the palate to obtain suction which can interfere with taste and the enjoyment of food. Implant supported dentures on the other hand are firmly clipped in and do not require the palate to be covered for suction.

Dental implants are incorporated with other treatments such as crowns, bridges and veneers as part of full smile makeovers or full mouth reconstructions following the same processes of smile design.
